Senior Shoot.... Class of 2012

I know it has been a while since I posted, I have several shoots that I will update you on shortly, but today I want to give you a glimpse into last nights shoot.
I had so much fun last night with this Beautiful young lady and her mother and sister, we had such a good time.  This is only a small portion of her senior shoot, we are going to do another session next week, but since "The Great Darke County Fair" is going on I wanted to take advantage of it.
I hope you enjoy this sneak peek.

As soon as I saw this microphone, I just couldn't resist. So fun.

Spring Wedding

I had the privilege of sharing in Peter and Kellie's day and am so very thankful that they let me have just a little part in it. What a blessing to be able to capture these special moments of the day. I had such a great time, and loved working with you both. As I heard a friend say several weeks ago "I hope this was the worst day of the rest of your life". When I heard that I REALLY liked it, because yes it is such an amazing day, that you have waited for all your life, but as your relationship grows your days will get better and better. You think you are more in love than you will ever be, on that day, but 2, 5, 10 and 25 years from now you will look back and realize you had hardly any love for each other compared to what you have then.
May God truly bless your marriage.

All in the Details

I am entering a photography contest and the theme for this months contest is "All in the Details", as soon as I saw the theme, I knew what photo shoot I was going to use a picture from. I had just done our daughters 18 month pictures, and there were a few that popped in my head when I saw the theme.  I just had to decide which one of 2 I was going to pick.  I decided on this one first because I love every last detail of how God made this little girl, and secondly because she notices every detail of everything, as you can see here with her bellybutton. I just love when I ask her where it is and she shows me.

I just love that little girl
Would love you know what you think about my interpretation of the theme.

Project 52 week 10

This weeks theme was Childhood Toys. I had several ideas this week, first I was going to use a whole bunch of army men. I was going to have to go buy them, and I really didn't want to do that. Then I was going to get ALL my Cabbage Patch kids out, and then my amazing husband came up with an idea.  He suggested ATARI, and I fell in love with the idea. He went to the basement and brought up the box and I cleaned it all up and here is what we got.  I had to make sure Pac-Man, Frogger, and Space Invaders were included, those are truly Classics. Love to know what you think.

When we have a game room in the basement, I think I am going to print this for the wall.

Calling all Seniors...... well soon to be.

I am looking for Senior Reps from the class of 2012. If you will be a senior, your child will be a senior, or you know a soon to be senior, please pass this blog along to them.  I will only be selecting 4 senior reps for the 2012 class, 2 guys and 2 girls.
What is a Senior Rep?  I am so glad you asked. A Senior Rep is a soon to be senior, who is one of my models for the year. They will also hand out rep cards with their picture and my information on it, to refer me to their friends and family.  What is in it for you? Well here is a list of some of the benefits.
Senior Sitting in up to 3 locations, with up to 3 outfit changes (up to 30 miles)
8x10 print of your favorite shot
As a bonus for your referals: With every new Senior shoot I do that brings me your rep card, you will receive free prints. The more Friends you send my way the more prints you receive. As the number goes up so do your benefits. There are bonuses added after 5 and 10 Senior sessions come my way with your card in hand.
Just as an example:
When 5 of your friends have their photo shoots you will be receiving over $300 worth of prints, sitting fees, and bonuses.
When 10 of your friends have photo shoots you will be receiving over $600 worth of prints, sitting fees and bonuses.
Now that you know what you will receive, with just a little bit of work from you. You are probably wondering how you can become one of my 2012 Senior Reps.  Anyone interested in being one of my Senior Reps needs to write a 100 word essay titled: "What makes me a good Senior Rep", explaining what it is about you, that would make you the best person to be selected.
Essays must be submitted by March 28, 2011, and the New Senior Reps will be notified by April 11, 2011.
Photo shoots will start the following week, so you have time to get your cards out to all your friends in time for those who want their pictures done in the summer.
Please send Essays to mariescottphotography@gmail.com

****Date has been extended till April 15, 2011 With things being so busy right now, I am extending the date.

Project 52 week 9

This weeks Theme is "Express Yourself". Well I am going to tell you the truth about this picture. When our little girl was waking around in my shoes for the hundredth time (ok so that number might be a little exaggerated, but only a little), I though oh this would be perfect for this weeks shot. Well when I took it, I remembered the theme as being something a little different. I for some reason was thinking it was "from your perspective", I thought this would be perfect, because from my perspective these shoes are a little too big, from her perspective, Mommies shoes fit just right. Well then I went back on the forum and found that my idea for that, didn't work cause the theme wasn't as I remembered (I did read it early last saturday morning, and have been sick this week, so I will use that as my excuse). Then I started to think about it, and Yes it was perfect for this theme. This is just one way she expresses herself, and how she thinks she is so much bigger than she is. I am pretty sure this is going on her bedroom wall, just have to figure out what size I want.  If you have suggestions would love to hear them.
Also you will notice I am playing around with a new logo, I am trying to decide which one I like the best. Over the next few posts you will see a couple different ones. Please leave your feedback, I would love to know what you think.

I love how she makes my size 6 1/2 shoes, look so big

project 52 week 8

Well the Theme this week was "The View From Here". For this one I had so many ideas and couldn't completely decide which one I wanted to use, so I went with one of my first photos from this week.  I just love this little guy, him and his 4 brother make me smile every time I see them.  This was at his brother's birthday party.  I think the view from here, if pretty wonderful.

project 52 week 7

Well I finally got my picture done for this week. I am thinking it is my favorite of the three weeks I have done. The theme this week was "Open your Heart". As soon as I read the them, this is the word that popped in my head, I just had to figure out a way to put it in print.  Adoption is something that God had for our family open our heart to, and we will never ever be the same. Our hearts have gained so much love that we never knew we were capable of having. We are so thankful that this is what He has for us, because how could I ever imagine never seeing those sweet little toes.
Would love to know what you think, and what comes to mind when you hear the phrase "Open your Heart".

Words

This weeks theme was WORDS. The one word that kept coming to mind all week when I was trying to think of a picture was BELIEVE, so I knew I had to find something that went with that for my picture this week.  There is a verse that I knew was the perfect thing for it, Acts 16:31, I just had to find a way to mix all of that together.  So this is it, I would love to know what you think.

Project 52

So I decided the first week of the year that I really wanted to do the Project 52 this year. Project 52 is taking 1 picture a week, for myself and not for a photo shoot,  that goes along with a theme and then posting it to the group. Well I knew I really wanted to do it, but knew that I was going to have to start it late, since I had a lot going on. I am starting this week and I am going to post them on my blog as well as on the group, that way my friends, family and customers can see what I am shooting in my off time.   I also want to do this because it is going to challenge me so that I don't get stuck in a rut, and end up being bored with my pictures.
This weeks theme was Muse.  Well the one thing that has continually inspired me to take pictures over the last year in a half is what I decided was the best choice for this week.
Yep she loves being on the tractor, but she loves for people to be paying attention to her the most (waving into the grandstands and smiling the whole time)
I would love to read your comments each week and know what you think of my version of the theme, as well as your thoughts on the pictures I post.
